Zhijun Cui got her masters degree of Basic Psychology from Central China Normal University. Now she is a PhD candidate of Prof. Zhou at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, Beijing Normal University. Her principal interests are mathematical cognition and mathematical education, which she studies using fMRI, EEG, and behavioral methods.

Shijia Fang received her Bachelors degree in Engineering from the Jiangnan University, and now is a graduate student majoring in Developmental and Educational Psychology under the supervision of Prof. Xinlin Zhou at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, School of Brain and Cognitive Science, Beijing Normal University. Shijia’s current research interests include symbolic and nonsymbolic numerical cognition and the cognitive mechanism of children’s spatial ability.

Mengyi Li received her Bachelor of Science Education degree at the Research Center for Learning Science from Southeast University of China, and now is a graduate student majoring in Developmental and Educational Psychology under the supervision of Prof. Xinlin Zhou at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, Beijing Normal University. Her principal interests focus on using behavioral, fMRI, and EEG methods to study mathematical cognition and learning, such as the role of the brain’s semantic network in mathematical processing and learning.

Leinian Li received his Bachelors degree from Qufu Normal University. He finished his master degree in Nanjing Normal University. He is now a PhD candidate of Prof. Xinlin Zhou in the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning at Beijing Normal University. His current research interests include computational neuroscience, mathematical cognition, mathematical education, and the assessment and promotion of mathematical ability.

Ruizhe Liu obtained her Masters degree in Psychology from Beijing Normal University in 2012. In 2012-2013, she worked with Dr. Siegler as an associate researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. Now she is pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh with a primary focus on how children learn mathematics, in particular, how elementary school children learn fractions.

Yujie Lu received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the East China Normal University. She is now a graduate student majoring in Developmental and Educational Psychology under the supervision of Prof. Xinlin Zhou at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, School of Brain and Cognitive Science, Beijing Normal University. Her current research interests focus on symbolic and nonsymbolic numerical cognition, neural domain specificity of numerical processing, and numerical related cognitive development in children.

Jing Tian, jt3116@tc.columbia.edu, Postdoctoral Student for Dr. Robert Siegler.
Jing Tian double majored in Chemistry and Psychology at Peking University, China, and earned her bachelor degrees in 2013. That same year, Jing started to work with Dr. Robert Siegler at Carnegie Mellon University as a graduate student with her research focused on how children learn rational numbers. In May 2018, Jing earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. In September, 2018, she moved to Teachers’ College, Columbia University, as a postdoctoral researcher with Dr. Robert Siegler to continue her research on rational number understanding.

Li Wang is a PhD candidate at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning at Beijing Normal University, supervised by Prof. Xinlin Zhou. She focuses on educational neuroscience and its practices in mathematics.

Rui Xiao, 201721430046@mail.bnu.edu.cn, Postgraduate student, research in mathematics and language, BNU.
Rui Xiao received a bachelor’s degree at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2016 and enrolled in Beijing Normal University for a master’s degree in 2017. From 2017 to the present, he has worked as a postgraduate student in the Cognitive Neuroscience Group of Prof. Zhou at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning at Beijing Normal University. His previous major was material physics science. In 2014 he began to study psychology. Since 2017, he has been mainly engaged in psychological research on children’s mathematical ability, especially on the relationship between children’s mental abacus and mathematical ability.
